This week, WordPress.org announced the release of WordPress 3.6. The Open-Source CMS, which claims to power almost one-fifth of the web, has grad plans for developing as a significant publishing platform, The release of version 3.6 brings the content management system that much closer.
Among the numerous enhancements is a revamped Revision Browser to better support site administrators manage legacy and archived content. The interface also has a revised blog-centric theme.
Named “Oscar” in honor of Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, WordPress 3.6 now includes better autosave, post locking, native support for audio and video embeds via an HTML5 media player, and improved integrations with such audio sources as Spotify, Rdio, and SoundCloud.
