A woman serving on a jury in the UK contacted a defendant on Facebook and will now go to jail for eight months. She will be the first person in Britain to be convicted of contempt of court involving the Internet. This case will serve as a warning for other jurors.

The judge was forced to throw the case as a result of the woman's actions. Taxpayers will be forced to pick up the tab equaling 6 million pounds ($10 million).
