Google has struck a deal with Sony to ship all Vaio brand PCs with the Chrome Web Browser in the US. This deal was a big win for Chrome which will benefit from a tremendous growth in market share. This past month Chrome captured nearly 3 percent of the market. Microsoft has similar deals with PC makers to ship Internet Explorer as the default browser in most PC models, which has allowed it to retain its lead in browser market share.
It is still uncertain whether Vaios outside the US will also be shipped with the browser. The Vaio-brand PCs will continue to carry the Internet Explorer browser.
The Google Chrome browser will also be promoted to users of the RealPlayer media streaming software.
