Some new updates have launched for Google Webmaster Tools, a tool designed to help webmasters and website owners combat the challenges of SEO.
Webmaster Tools now supports a new “search appearance” pop up to guide newbie webmasters and an updated navigation to help everyone.
The navigation overhaul was designed to mimick the order of “the stages of search,” making it more logical for webmasters to work with. The navigation is ordered by:
- Crawl Section - Here you will see information about how Google discovers and crawls content for your website.
- Google Index section - This section will keep track of how many of your pages are the Google index and how Google understands that content.
- Search Appearance - This area will mark up your pages to help Google understand your content better during indexing and potentially influence how your pages appear in the search results.
- Traffic section - This section will help webmasters better understand the results and exposure in search.
Google also is providing quicker access to administrative functions with this recent update. Also, the search appearance pop-up will help visualize how your web site will appear in search results.
