Initial reports from US eCommerce websites reveal that web traffic over the Thanksgiving holiday period was up 160% from last year. With the economy in such an unfavorable position, many are looking for signs that the economy is on the up-swing. Statistics from the mobile platform company Usablenet, show that Thanksgiving day web traffic was actually higher than on ‘Black Friday’, which is the traditional busiest shopping day. It seems that many users were searching online for deals prior to venturing outdoors to find bargains and other promotionals.
About 25% of the companies in the top 200 retailers don't have mobile websites, which means that they are missing out on a lot of opportunity for sales, branding and conversion. Mobile payments are increasing as users become more comfortable with the medium and more buyers are switching to smart phone technology.
