The US Army has been conducting field tests of mobile devices in the battlefield. Soldiers have been testing Android, iPhones, and Windows Phones and software that allows them to share data and imagery to improve coordination and strategy.
The tests have shown that soldiers prefer iPhone and Android devices. It is expected that smartphones will be used more readily on the battlefield this year, as the Army concludes it's tests.
