In an apparent attempt to differentiate itself, Samsung has decided to shift priorities to Windows Phone 7, Microsoft's new mobile system, and shift attention away from Android.
With the smartphone market rapidly expanding, this is a great opportunity for Microsoft to get back in the game.
Perhaps it's a question of putting all your eggs in one basket. Some smartphone makers may want to stand out from the crowd--since the Android product is becoming so widespread. Yet, this may also be a losing play, since connectivity to a marketplace is becoming the golden egg for the mobile market--and apps are the allure of that market.
