Mozilla is building an open-source security tool that is designed to aid developers build more secure applications and websites.
Security has always been a top priority for Mozilla, but they are now expanding their practice with a direct, security tool. This open source security testing framework is called Minion, and Mozilla's wiki explains that the goal of the project is:
"Minion is a security testing framework built by Mozilla to bridge the gap between developers and security testers," Mozilla's wiki states.
The application contains 4 Task Engine Plugins:
The security toolkit is now in its earliest phases and a Beta release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013. Already there is a bunch of code released on Github, available for inspection by the development community.
