Many companies have tried to enter the Kindle market, but Apple has certainly made the largest splash with it's shiny new iPad. News from Google and Verizon Wireless is that the two are putting their heads together to build a true contender for the tablet market. The two companies have already joined forces to fight Apple in the mobile phone market with an Android based product. Now, the two will carry on their partnership in the tablet (Kindle) market.
