Senator Schumer Calls for Investigation of Car Warranty Robo-Call. The Better Business Bureau stated that they received more than 140,000 complaints about the calls--even from people on the federal "Do not call" list. Schumer called the scheme "robo-dialer harassment." The messages the companies leave are misleading, eat up phone minutes on call phone users, are a general nuisance and, as it has been reported, is an active scam. A class action lawsuit was filed against USfidelis Inc. charging that company officials ignored a subpoena demanding that they answer questions about their business.
