GWT 2.2 and Google Plugin for Eclipse now available

Eclipse 2.2 now will directly integrate with GWT Designer (a Java developer tool with a fantastic WYSIWYG Ajax user interface).  The GWT SDK will have  HTML5 support.

The support for HTML5 features such as the canvas element and scriptable rendering of 2D shapes and bitmap images are still experimental--so you will need to expect changes to the handling of these elements and HTML5 in general through this developer tool.

GWT will support CellTable widget to allow aids to sorting features and controls column widths. This will help reduce the amount of custom code that developers will need to write. It should also be noted that CWT 2.2 will have depreciated support for Java 1.5. Although Java 1.5 will still work for development projects with GWT, it is advised to upgrade Java for the latest version of GWT.
