The login itself is 31% faster than its former process, and users are now able to determine which applications are permitted to publish on their News Feeds. Mobile applications using the login must separately ask for permission to post back to Facebook, meaning less Spotify and CandyCrush notifications for all.
Facebook’s newsroom tells us they have been “working directly with popular mobile apps to help them create great Facebook Login experiences” and that “the recent changes to Login are just the beginning of more improvements.” Now that 81% of iOS apps and 62% of Android apps are using Facebook Login, an optimization of 31% is quite significant.
