Amazon Mobile Associates API enables eCommerce in-app purchasing

The new Amazon Mobile Associates API allows web and app developers to sell products from the Amazon marketplace within their apps or games.

Developers can now tap into the Amazon Associates database with their apps, offering a new revenue stream for coders and faster innovation for Amazon. The API allows for a lot of control in how you work with the data--mobile app developers can specify a specific group of products to sell from within their apps.

Both digital and physical products will be available through this eCommerce API. It will be possible to specify a single product to sell in-game or allow for the exploration of a category of products. Also, to make things a little more interesting.... App developers will be able to bundle physical products with digital products in a single package.

Developers will earn 6% of the total purchase derived from within their apps and games using the Amazon Mobile Associates API. By leveraging Amazon’s safe checkout experience, it will help new developers gain a trust foothold with customers.

About the API: The Amazon Mobile Associates API is dedicated to US mobile users and powers mobile apps on Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, and Android phones and tablets.
